Dig Architects is a Cornwall-based RIBA Chartered practice. We’re passionate about buildings, pragmatic designers, and professional in practice - we believe the best residential architecture is achieved through careful listening, clear thinking and collaborative working. We are experienced in working within sensitive coastal and rural settings across Cornwall, South Devon and the wider South West – our buildings are of their place.

We prioritise quality over quantity, allowing us to invest time and attention to every project we’re lucky enough to work on – building strong relationships with local clients, skilled craftsmen, consultants and trusted suppliers. This is key to our success in delivering crafted, bespoke, high-performance residential projects – that don’t cost the Earth.

Dig Architects was formally established in 2022 by Daniel ‘Dig’ Mattholie, a Chartered Architect with 20years experience across a wide range of sectors, project types and scales, at every project stage. Dig studied at the Welsh School of Architecture, Cardiff University (BSc, MArch, DipArch), graduating with Distinction, and has previously worked in award-winning architectural practices in Vancouver, Bogotá, Bath and Bristol.

This breadth of experience informs a thoughtful, design-led approach that is always grounded in buildability and context. Get in touch to arrange a free initial discussion.
