Sustainable, high-end and customer focused Architects based near Devon.

Dig Architects are based in South East Cornwall, separated from South Devon by a few hundred meters of water, but sharing a similar spirit. Devon's unique coastline, scenery and culture makes it a special place. Our contemporary and sustainable design, combined with an inquisitiveness and respect of place, helps shape our work across the South West. We create buildings for our clients that understand their context and contribute positively towards it, result in uplifting spaces from grounded designs, and add value (maximising the available budget).

We’re all about the big picture.

Dig Architects work with the site and its context, and the local workforce’s strengths. A collaborative approach is taken to design, working with clients, consultants, suppliers, and contractors who all bring their specialisms to the table, to achieve the best quality end results. Attention to detail is critical in all we do.

Dig Architects strive to design simple and elegant solutions – carefully considered details that are easier to build, attractive and robust – which should save construction costs, result in better end products, reduce the level of ongoing maintenance required and enable your building to age handsomely.

Our design and build process…

Dig Architects can provide input across all stages of a project, which is roughly broken down into three stages (a simplification of the seven stage RIBA plan of work):

1) Planning – Development of Brief, Feasibility studies, Concept design, Design development and Planning submission.

2) Building Regulations and Tender – Technical Design development, submission to demonstrate compliance with the Building Regulations, Tender documentation production including procurement routes and contracts, Tender process, and contractor selection.

3) On site Construction – Construction information, Site inspections and Contractor engagement, Valuations and cost reviews / Contract administration as agreed.
